the NAULETTES AKA
THE afri-co-lab community choir

Led by local musical talent Deanne Naula, The Naulettes is Afri-Co-Lab's first community singing project. We're creating a space where people can come together, support each other and sing with joy.

We're working towards building a confident group of singers who can share their voices with the community, harmoniously and with heart. No perfection required, just a love of singing.

Very soon you will be able to sign up to join the Naulettes for the Autumn Term - starting on Thursday 24th September. Full dates are below.

Choir Leader Deanne.jpg

Hello, I'm Deanne Naula, The Naulettes Choir Leader.

My passion for singing was nurtured in community with people and pals, and I have been part of choirs since school. My singing experience spans choral music and contemporary choirs, with performances at the Royal Festival Hall with vocal leaders like Mark Delisser (The Voice, The Masked Singer).

I performed as part of the immersive vocal experience HUG by Verity Standen in London, Reading, Bristol, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. I've also performed as a lead vocalist in jazz, soul and funk bands, as well as writing songs and vocal arrangements.

All this steered me to leading community choirs in London, for older folks, as a way to stay connected, both in person and online during the pandemic. At the heart of my musical projects is the need to make beautiful singing experiences that bring and keep community together.
