Join us this autumn for a cosy and therapeutic lucky charm making adventure with Stitch TLC’s Yemii

Workshop from 1.30 pm until 4.30 pm

Over the workshop you will craft a hand-stitched brooch. Connect with your natural sense of creativity as you hand-stitched a textile brooch talisman, inspired by the journey of a single acorn transforming into a grand oak tree.

Yemii will teach you simple hand stitches to bring your brooch to life, and if you’re feeling extra sparkly you also have the option to add in some beading magic to your brooch! Join us at Afri Co Lab for a leisurely afternoon, crafting a wearable story of resilience and growth intended to bring good fortune, provide positive energy and offer protection as the winter draws in. 

This workshop is perfectly suited to hand sewing newbies! Just bring yourself; all materials will  be provided, including a beautiful array of beads and colourful embroidery threads. There’ll even be snacks and a cosy corner if you need to take time away during the workshop.

You’ll leave with:

• A handmade textile brooch

• A printed handout for you to practice more slow stitches at home

About Yemii

Since the tender age of 8, Yemii has been weaving magic with a needle and thread, all thanks to her Mum’s teachings in Nigeria. Her handiwork isn't just a hobby; it's her beacon of purpose and hope. Fast forward to 2020, Yemii launched Stitch TLC in St Leonard’s; a cozy haven where women gather to embrace the art of slow stitching and hand embroidery, using it as a crafty mirror for self-reflection and self-care.

We offer tickets on a sliding scale so that everyone has the chance to take part. Please choose the price that feels right for your circumstances. There's no need to explain or provide proof — we trust you to decide. Your honesty helps us keep these workshops open, welcoming and sustainable for all.

Pay it Forward: £28

For those who are comfortably able to meet all of their basic needs and would like to help others take part. By choosing this option, you're directly supporting someone on a lower income to join the workshop, helping us keep our spaces welcoming and accessible for all.

Standard: £18

For those who may sometimes feel the pinch around meeting basic needs but are generally able to manage. This option reflects the true cost of the workshop and helps us cover our running costs.

Low/No Wage: £8

For those who often feel financial strain and may not always be able to cover basic needs. This option is here to make sure that money is not a barrier to taking part — you are welcome here.
