Meet your Open House host:
Khadija Khan is an artist and community facilitator based in St Leonards-on-Sea. She brings people together through creativity, conversation, and care, whether that’s around a table with a pot of tea or in a room full of life drawing and storytelling.
With a background in community organising and projects like The Hero’s Journey and The Refugee Buddy Project, Khadija creates spaces where everyone feels welcome and seen. At Afri-Co-Lab, she hosts Open House, a space for sharing, making, and connecting.
As an artist, her bold use of colour and materials, including oils, cold wax, and gold leaf, reflects a deep connection to memory, emotion, and lived experience. You can find her paintings and creative journey on Instagram at @kkbysea
