Electirc Palace X Afri-co-Lab Presents Dreamers
Sunday 15th February

Electric Palace and Afri-Co-Lab present Dreamers as part of Blackity Black, our ongoing collaboration celebrating Black cinema. Curated by our very own Anna Maria Nabirye, who will be introducing the film.
Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor's visually bold directorial debut follows Nigerian migrant Isio at Hatchworth Removal Centre, where she meets her charismatic roommate Farah. As their friendship blossoms into romance, Isio must decide whether to trust a broken system or risk everything for love. A tender story of defiance that insists love can endure even in the most hostile places.

Shop Front Gallery:
'I Am' by Victoria Oldman
From 3 June to 21 July, we showcased 'I Am' by Victoria Oldman in Afri-Co-Lab’s Shop Front Gallery – a living installation that evolved week by week, exploring policed identity, chosen family and self-determination.

Our Shop Front Gallery offers paid opportunities for local artists and gives our neighbourhood 24-hour walk-by access to new work in Hastings & St Leonards.
Artists Connect
with Charlotte Stainton
We welcomed Charlotte Stainton to Artists Connect on 25 July 2025. An experimental artist working across digital and physical media, her practice draws on personal experience, queerness and an experimental mindset to create unfiltered, expressive pieces. She opened space for conversation around process, identity and play, while giving us all a chance to connect and reflect together.

Artists Connect is our monthly gathering that celebrates local talent and creates space for creatives to meet, mingle and be inspired.
GET LIT! Off The Page - Writing To Be Heard
with Kyla Jardine
We came together for Get LIT! with writer and spoken word artist Kyla Jardine in July 2025. Her workshop Off the Page – Writing to Be Heard invited us to lift words off the paper and into the room. Through guided writing and playful experimentation, Kyla encouraged us to claim space with our voices and reconnect with our stories.
